Tommy Reilly is a 26 year old singer songwriter from Glasgow. From honing his songs on the open mic scene while studying at the University of Glasgow he has gone on to win a nationwide music competition, score a top 20 single, a Scottish number one and record 3 albums.
Tommy first got a break when he won the Orange Unsigned Act competition in 2009 on Channel 4. This success led him to a deal with A&M Records (Duffy, The Courteeners) and the opportunity to work with the brilliant Bernard Butler on his debut album.
After extensive touring of the UK in support of the album, including festival appearances at T in the Park, Rockness, Glastonbury amongst many others, Tommy headed back to Glasgow to start work on his second album. He chose to work with fellow Glaswegian songwriter Roddy Hart on a more stripped back album which was released on the independent Glasgow label Euphonios. He took the second record over to the SXSW Festival in Texas and hit the road with The Proclaimers and Justin Currie (Del Amitri) in the UK.
He completed his third album which was recorded with producer Paul Savage (Franz Ferdinand, Mogwai, Twilight Sad) at the famed Chem 19 studios in Glasgow. The album features playing from members of fellow Glasgow acts Admiral Fallow and Frightened Rabbit and was released in 2013.
Tommy graduated from a Masters in Sound Design and Composition at the prestigious Glasgow School of Art in 2014, and continues songwriting, performing and creating music for moving image. New single “This Time Of Year” is set for release on 10th April 2015 from Mesanic Music.
